This is my submission to the 2D Shooter Assignment for Coursera's Game Design and Development with Unity.

These are the changes I made to the base game after completing the tutorial modifications (I had to do 3 but I was too deep into it to let it go):

  • Procedural Game Background
  • Procedural Wall positioning
  • Added 2 new victory conditions:
    • Survive the timer
    • Kill the boss
  • 5 Random level up power-ups:
    •  Damage
    • Penetration
    • Fire Rate
    • Rotating bombs
    • Projectile Size
  • Enemies spawn faster as time passes by
  • Enemies always spawn in a circle around the player within the level
  • Arrow points at closest Enemy when offscreen
  • Sound revamp and music pitches up when getting closer to goal
  • Added UI elements for time, XP and Health
